About Me
I am not a “pet photographer.” You might have googled & found me that way… & I’m glad you did.
I am just a person who discovered herself after taking photos of animals and fighting for their lives.
They are real. Every day. We should try to be more like them, I think.
They are loyal, despite the most horrible life experiences. And I have unfortunately seen more than I ever cared to know about.
The amount of people that have chosen adoption… & volunteered & fostered as a result of my work is beyond words. How can you put a price on that?
I’m obviously fascinated by people too. Spent several years of my life working in the psychology field…asking questions, learning from every patient & client, guiding people when they weren’t strong enough to do it on their own. I wouldn’t trade this time for anything…liked it more than the corporate america grind…but less than what i’m doing now.
This has happened several times: A client or their spouse will see the portraits I took & be very struck by one particular image. They will say, “Wow. I’ve never seen that side of him.” or “She’s only looked like that when we’re alone.” So, I think I’ve been gifted with “seeing” more than the average.
My sessions are intimate. I ask questions. We laugh. At ourselves & each other. I think we all change a little as a result of the time we spent together. Hopefully all for the better…
Just LOVE photographing folks in their golden years. They clearly have settled so much within themselves. Their humility is so apparent & inspiring.
I like giving people permission to just be. I don’t want to take the same ol’ photos…it’s better when a client really brings it…allows themselves to be in the moments. And how cool is it that they trust me to keep them safe? Which I will. I take this shit very seriously. If you haven’t noticed.
